HiYa
As far as I can recall we have not had a triple header at our venue. But last night we had a Div 2 match, Bishops vs Lowestoft, a Div 3 match, Knaves vs Wymondham and a Williamson Plate Quarter Final vs Norwich Dons Avengers. Crowded it certainly was, but credit to David P for organising the layout which seemed to work well. As far as the Bishops match was concerned, we were up against the top of Division 2 leaders, Lowestoft "A". I didn't get the chance to see the other games but Javier's game was first to finish against Andrew Hartland followed by Simon's draw against Leon Hines. I feel my game was a disaster as I had made a really good move 19. Nf5 which threatened a King/Queen fork and it should have won the exchange. Unfortunately after 19......Rxe2 I touched my knight instead of taking his rook on e2. I had no choice but to move the knight and therefore went down a rook for 2 knights. The rest was slow death. Richard's game was the last to finish and ended as a draw. So the final result was 1- 3 ..... Simon's game is attached. The first 20 moves of my game are as below: 1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Nf6 3. d4 Bg4 4. Be2 Bxe2 5. Nxe2 Qxd5 6. O-O Nc6 7. Nbc3Qf5 8. Ng3 Qg6 9. Re1 O-O-O 10. Be3 e5 11. Nce2 Nb4 12. Rc1 exd4 13. Bf4 Nbd5 14. Qxd4 Nb6 15. Qc3 Bd6 16. Bxd6 Rxd6 17. Rcd1 Rc6 18. Qd3 Rxc2 19. Nf5! Rxe2 20. Ne7+ ?? all the best Gerry
A quick report to be added to Gerry's (when he writes it).
I has Sam Gaffney (135) and going on 144 with only two defeats in a long run of games. He was ten points higher than our top board!! So we knew we were up against it,plus Lowestoft were top of the league. It was packed tighter than Gerry's purse last night with three teams all playing at the same time (is this the first I wonder). But we did all fit in,but it was a tight squeeze and well done to Capt Dave who got there early and set everything up! All I can comment on is my own game and a bit of Gerrys. My opponent and I stood even and then he gained some influence and I offered him the draw.He said make your move and when I did he did nothing. So I played on and now I had the influence and it was his turn to grovel of the draw. I took it and regretted it a bit,but we played through the likely ending and he won so al in all it wasn't so bad after all. We were materially equal
