Lord Gerald of Clayton has asked me to write a report as he is busy wan....err, sleeping right now. Oh,all right. We were playing the Sealy creatures from Sheringham. I had predicted a 2-2 bore draw. Guess the result folks...answers on a postcard to Nostradowning.com Yes,all the games looked as tight and locked up as a nun's chastity belt, and no mistakes and no bold attacking moves either. Gerry was the only one to have material advantage ( a pawn -and that didn't look too wonderful). But,on the flip side they out graded us 3-1,so a 2-2 draw was a fair result (I think they beat us 3-1 at their place, but with a much stronger team). Away from the bore draws I played the entertaining Harry de Hoskins. We had a series of thirty minutes, ten minutes and five minute showdowns and all proved to be a hell of a lot of fun. Only one of the games was a draw...the rest I will leave to Harry to comment on. But the first one was a superb one;a peach amongst nettles.....a feast of chess fantasia for the chess conisewers amongst us. Apart from which, there were hardly any players there apart from the four bishoprics, the Sealy creatures, Harry, myself and Mark and Dan. But then again it was a foul, wet and windy night.
