Greetings,
Four St Johnites showed up at the Gas Social Club for the inaugural Norfolk blitz, myself, Harry, Crumpton and Cap'n Dave. 15 rounds of 3 min (plus 2 secs per move) and ratings ranging from Andrew Brett at 195 to Andy Gallagher and Sally Marais on 50, all in the one group of 24 players. It was a really fun day, Crumpton won the u115 rating prize on 8 points, Harry also scored 8 and Cap'n Dave led the way for us with 8.5. I managed 7 but was happy to scalp Crumpton with a dirty mate in the corner and pick up a good win against Greg 'the purse' Tebble. Mr Brett won overall with a dominant 13.5. I did win a packet of maltesers spot prize for a super-fast mate against Benjie Perry who fell victim to my London Harry assault. Chocolate is always a good prize. I recommend this tournament next time to all, its unrated, great fun. David Knavid
