Oh Captain, My Kaptain.
Forgive the Korrection. It's 30th Knovember Knaves & Knights v KNorth KNorfolk Krabs etc.(Prawn Kocktail!) Kharlie Kneil Plus Hot off the press. Knaves v Aylsham Hawkinds Report ?Alan Knight organised a few off-hand graded games with Aylsham members and Dave Knave, Heather Everpresent-Wells and ?Alan himself in tandem with the Division 3 League games with Arfix Hurricanes (registered trademark) v Knaves of St John. Nice brightly lit venue with tables and chairs at the same height and we were felt very welcomed by all. Board order was . . . 1. Dave Elsey v Rupert Martin B. Bob Grindrod v Charlie Neil iii Rod Mills v Peter Tubbs & Callum Fruish v Ollie Nelson In descending order. Ollie appeared to have the upper hand positionally in a Sicilian Scheveningen/Najdorf and the tactics flow into an open board and Ollie's undeniable mating combination Q & B. Hard fought game. 1-0 Rod played his favourite Ruy Lopez Exchange and although there was a tactical melee in the middle of the board when the Queens came off Rod made the most of his material advantage in a brutal endgame. 1-0 Charlie had a good position in a Nimzo-Indian Samisch variation but as usual his attention wandered looking for more than the position had to offer. blah blah blah hashtag allaboutme and Bob took advantage in style. (I've got to say that, well house gin and lemonade was 2.85) 0-1 Dave gave me and Heather Wells a lift there and back. 0-! (no need to ask anymore) To sum up. Rod and Ollie will tell you that Chess is an embodiment of the supreme struggle of intellect. Me and Dave know it's just a board game like Cluedo or Buckaroo. Message Ends
