The Templars went down fighting against as strong N&N B team tonight.
Simon was our first casualty facing veteran, Terry Turners 1.b3! Simon tried an unorthodox line but got into trouble after grabbing Terry's g pawn. Next to finish was Ben facing his Moldovan opponent who played an aggressive e4, f4 and g4 against Ben's Sicilian. Ben played well and won ( Hopefully Ben will share the game for our pleasure [see below]). Joe seemed to have a decent attacking position with his rooks doubled on the c file and his opponent castling queenside. However when I came back to the game later in the evening he was a rook down and in a lost position. 2-1 to N & N The last game was very tense with both Ed and John using the time well. A complicated position was on the board but the N&N player had the more dominant pieces. Ed seemed to be holding but some exchanges ended with him losing first one pawn, then another. With both players with less than two minutes left there was a flurry of moves and the end position was lost. Ed respectfully resigned. A decent effort against a strong team. Hopefully next time we can reverse the result. The Moldovan Vs Ben https://www.chess.com/analysis/library/4UbE7N2HC2 J
