Dear Chessnuts ... here is The Dicky Report
There were no league games last night, but plenty of club standard and rapid play games went on upstairs and d0ownstairs and twenty members of the club turned up including a new guy named Oliver and a returning new guy James Latimer who played against Gerry. Here are the results of the games played. Standard Play Division Three Dave May 0.5 v Brian Cunningham 0.5 Crumpton Clarke 0 v Ben Yelverton 1 Standard Play Division Four Ollie Nelson 0.5 v Rod Mills 0.5 Rapid Play Division One David Payne 0 v Mark Lim 1 Rapid Play Division Three Dominic Harvey 0 Richard Downing 1 All games were recorded and sent into the Norfolk Chess website for rating and grading purposes. Lots of friendly games were also being played after the main ones and I briefly watched Senthil dispatching Colin Payne before I played three games against Ed King and won the lot. Nice! I also had a long chat with Colin Payne about his latest books...one a chess book and the other an account of his travels in Morocco, which I bought and read and highly recommend it. Next week is the long awaited local derby where The unbeaten St Johns Bishops and The unbeaten St Johns Knights clash in a league three encounter. Dicky
